In every town in the area, you will find a beautiful and unique Orthodox church. Wooden traces of an old culture are scattered all across Bieszczady. Some of these traces can be found on the Wooden Architecture Trail.

The town’s history reaches back to the beginnings of the 16th century and the rule of Jan Olbracht. The village of Ustrzyki, then called Ustryk, was inhabited by people of different cultures.

In times of the Polish People’s Republic, Arłamów, Kwaszenina, and Trójca were one of the most inaccessible places in Poland. The Resort Centre of the Bureau of the Council of Ministers in Arłamów had a cryptonym W-2 and was impossible to find on maps.

Ustrzyki’s Jewish cemetery can be accessed only on foot. Under the trees, there are almost five hundred matzevahs. The cemetery has a view on the town and the former synagogue, which currently functions as a library.
